When someone starts an email with the words 'unreleased Stanton Davis' we tend to sit up and notice, so for mixtape #92 may we present to you DJ Deano Sounds, label boss of Cultures Of Soul Records and a serious collector of vinyl. Here he supplies us with just over an hour's worth of deep and spiritual jazz, dipping into his record box to pull out some of the rarer bits in his collection while sandwiching the session with two previously unheard tracks from the Massachusetts flugelhorn player, who released the seminal jazz funk masterpiece 'Brighter Days' back in 1977. Elsewhere there's a scarce Doug Hammond outing, a Charles Tyner track which hasn't been seen since the 1990s and the soul jazz heavyweight that is Charles Earland's 'Leaving The Planet'. Check it out and then visit Cultures of Sound at http://www.culturesofsoul.com/ for more vintage sounds. Oh... and the Stanton Davis... expect to see the new bits unleashed in the summer. Thanks for listening.
