Originally mixed in 2010.
I'm extremely proud of this mix. I spent most of 2010 gathering together the tracks and I did a lot of editing and additional production to add to the mood and the concept. The Conet Project is a collection of recordings of "number stations" - covert radio frequencies that broadcasted encoded military information during the war. I had the idea of taking these recordings and looping them underneath the mix with added FX. The concept was loosely that this was a survivor's journey through a post-apocalyptic landscape trying to tune his radio for signs of life, and the only human voices that remained were these military signals, still giving out orders after the bombs had fallen and brought civilisation to an end. I also managed to fit in some of the score from Aguirre: Wrath Of God, one of my most adventurous selections.
"Automated military signals echo across desolate soundscapes of fractured electronic beats and static ash-fall."
