I originally developed the concept of "¡Sabotage!" in Kansas City in 1997 as a big "FUCK YOU" to established, mainstream musical trends, and as a spanner in the works to local placebo club culture. ¡Sabotage! fused a punk rock ethic with big beat, drum & bass, trip hop, hip hop, funk, dub, techno and a bit of cheek in defiance of the city's sanitized and sanctioned, genre-specific club nights, and anemic rave scene. In 2013, ¡Sabotage! delivers a similar kick in the nuts to the all too often flabby and flaccid, celebrity obsessed, and bottle service subverted New York City nightlife. Still deeply rooted in punk attitude, ¡Sabotage! draws upon decades of avant-pop, remixed retro, DFA era indie-dance, D.O.R. (dance oriented rock), straight up techno, and electronic block rockin' beats, as well as from the grit and glamour of deepest downtown Manhattan, and fearless, far out Brooklyn.
