With his 3rd studio album ‘Galactic Caravan’ dropping this month on Motech via Japan’s Underground Gallery, Franki Juncaj (DJ 3000) expands on his musical palette while still recalling his roots. Born & raised in the Detroit enclave of Hamtramck, DJ 3000 was inundated with both the sights & sounds of his neighborhood, a highly ethnic area of Detroit, as well as with the influence of the music of his parent's native Albania. This diverse collection of influences has molded the current make-up of both DJ 3000 & the vision and direction of the sound that he is producing. ‘Galactic Caravan’ expands his sound even further with a depth of electronic styles that collage to make his most cohesive work to date. With further releases lined up in the shape of a remix for Detroit Grand Pubahs (Detelefunk), a re-working of Tatsuya Takenaka (Logos), new releases on Motech, DJ 3000 is certainly keeping himself busy. So why not crankup the stereo and rejoice as the Motech man jumps in the mix.
