I proudly present to you the second set in my "Downtempo Groove Journey" series. You get sixteen tracks from sixteen great acts, played from CDs and vinyl, with only a little extra post-production work.
Now, I know what some of you are thinking: "Lenny Kravitz? He's not a downtempo artist." Well, that's true. However, this particular track is one of my earliest remix productions, "Believe in Me" (Clockwork Wizards Arcane History Mix), which I produced back in 2002. I took an already-great Kravitz track and turned it into an slow, churning, sensual groove with lots of new instrumentation. It was fun.
Some of my other favourites in this set are the rather intense opener "About You," the absolutely beautiful "Free Me" by Quintero, the classic "Karmacoma" (Massive Attack, remixed by Portishead!), and the somewhat ominous "Failure of Shortwave Radio Pt. 3" by the Moscow Coup Attempt.
